Five years after Hellboy II will send Guillermo humanity with giant robots in a seemingly hopeless battle against alien invaders.
Not from outer space, but from the depths of the Pacific Ocean they are risen in the near future through a dimension portal to eradicate the human race: the monstrous kaiju. After evil surprised people by the first wave of attack and suffered large losses as the kaiju plowed a swath of devastation through the cities, mankind in the following could counterattack by giant robots using the kaiju reasonably successfully announce the fight. These robots, called Hunter (known as Hunter in the original), two pilot controlled, whose thinking are linked using a neural bridge. But even the hunters appear no longer to be able to withstand the ongoing offensive of the kaiju that escape the crack in shorter intervals and ever larger formats. Therefore, the Government decides to set the Hunter program under the leadership of the kaiju war veterans stacker Pentecost.
While those watching their defense in the construction of massive walls, Pentecost withdraws the remaining hunters, to close the gap in the Pacific rim in a recent offensive. The last hope of the human race lies precisely in the hands of two unlikely heroes: the burned-out former pilot Raleigh Becket and the inexperienced Mako to the legendary Hunter danger in that decisive battle introducing…
