Filmmaker Corin Hardy worked since 2008 on his directorial debut, the Hallow. Originally, the film was titled the good people, a term that refers to the old Irish legend of a dark fairy folk that robs children according to the legend, in order to strengthen its own ranks. During the shoot, was the working title of The Woods of horror flicks, but once again was renamed at the end, which is why he was called the Hallow to its appearance.
Director Corin Hardy had been short films before the Hallow and music videos shot (he has fronted the Band Conspirators), could present but still no feature films. Nevertheless he applied – in which he sent a rough cut working copy of the Hallow – for the Director post to the reboot of the Crow and was promptly hired.
Two of the actors from the Hallow had been appearances on the HBO series game of thrones, namely Michael McElhatton and Joseph Mawle.
