A bigger splash is a remake of the French thriller drama of the swimming pool, directed by Jacques Deray with Alain Delon, Romy Schneider, Maurice Ronet and Jane Birkin in 1969. The story written originally by Alain page adapted to a screenplay David Kajganich (invasion).
The remake of A bigger splash, Italian Luca Guadagnino Director took over. Had he and Tilda for the romantic drama I am love (2009) and the documentary short film Tilda: The Love Factory (2002) worked together.
The female cast of A bigger splash changed several times: after Cate Blanchett (the curious case of Benjamin button) was originally intended for the role of Marianne, she was later replaced by Tilda Swinton (only lovers left alive). Margot Robbie (focus) should just play first the Penelope, before she could no longer accommodate the movie into their schedule and the part therefore went to Dakota Johnson (fifty shades of grey).
